Gas Range Installation
Toronto & GTA
Ontario law requires TSSA-certified technicians for all gas connections. We're licensed, insured, and experienced with every gas range brand across Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga, Vaughan, and the GTA.
Gas Range Installation Is Not a DIY Job in Ontario
In Ontario, all gas appliance connections must be made by a TSSA-certified technician. This isn't optional.
Beyond the legal requirement, the safety stakes are real. An improperly connected gas line is a serious hazard. A loose fitting, an incorrect pressure setting, or a missing shutoff valve can go undetected for months, with consequences ranging from appliance failure to fire or carbon monoxide risk.
We also see problems that stem from using unlicensed handymen or big-box delivery crews who aren't authorised for gas work:
- Gas line connected without proper shutoff valve in place
- Anti-tip bracket not installed, leaving the range unstable
- Flexible connector used past its rated length, creating a leak point
- Burners not tested after connection, masking pressure issues
- Installation not documented, voiding the manufacturer warranty
What Our Installation Includes

- Gas line connection by a TSSA-certified technician
- Anti-tip bracket installation
- Leveling and alignment
- Full safety check and test of all burners and oven function
- Documentation for your manufacturer warranty
How We Handle Every Gas Range Installation
Gas range installation in Toronto comes with variables that general guides don't cover. Older homes in areas like the Annex, Riverdale, and Etobicoke sometimes have gas lines that require adapters or pressure adjustments. Condos downtown may require property manager approval before any gas work begins. We know what to check before arriving.
Pre-Installation Check
We assess your gas line, shutoff valve, and space clearances before work begins. Any issues flagged upfront, no surprises on the day.
Old Range Removal
Your existing range is safely disconnected from the gas line and removed. We cap the line securely before the new unit goes in.
TSSA-Certified Gas Connection
All gas connections made by our TSSA-certified technician using approved fittings and flexible connectors rated for your range.
Anti-Tip Bracket
Anti-tip bracket installed to code. This is a required safety step that delivery crews routinely skip.
Leveling & Alignment
Range leveled precisely so oven racks sit flat and burner flame distributes evenly. A few millimetres off affects cooking performance.
Full Safety Test & Sign-Off
Every burner and oven function tested. Gas connections leak-checked before we leave. Documentation provided for your warranty records.
All Major Gas Range Brands Installed
Our technicians are factory-trained and certified across more than 30 manufacturers. Whether you have a consumer brand or a professional-grade luxury range, we install it correctly.
Gas Range Installation FAQs
Do I need a permit for gas range installation in Toronto?
Yes, in most cases. Ontario law requires gas connections to be made by a TSSA-certified technician, and permits are typically required for new gas line installations. For replacements using an existing gas line, requirements vary by municipality. Our team handles all necessary documentation and will advise you before the appointment.
Can you install a gas range in a condo?
Yes, but condo installations often require advance approval from the property manager before any gas work begins. We recommend confirming this before booking. We are experienced with condo installations across downtown Toronto, Midtown, and throughout the GTA.
What if my gas line needs upgrading?
If we identify that your existing gas line requires modification, such as a pressure adjustment or new flexible connector, we will advise you before proceeding. We are fully licensed to handle gas line work as part of the installation. There are no surprise charges.
How long does gas range installation take?
Most standard gas range installations take between one and three hours. If gas line modifications are required, it may take longer. We'll give you a time estimate when you book so you can plan your day.
Will you remove my old range?
Yes. We safely disconnect and remove your existing range as part of the job. Just let us know when booking and we'll factor it into the appointment.
Is an anti-tip bracket required?
Yes. Anti-tip brackets are required by code for all freestanding ranges and are a standard part of our installation. Many delivery crews skip this step. We never do.
